FAQ

What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic deals with the relationship between the spinal column and the nervous system. Since optimal nervous system function is required for wellness, chiropractors remove interference to the nervous system helping the body maintain optimal function.
What is a subluxation?
A subluxation is dysfunction of the spinal column or pelvis causing interference to optimal nervous system function.

How do chiropractors remove subluxations?
Chiropractors are experts in detecting subluxations and remove them using specific chiropractic adjustments.

Why do I need chiropractic care when I don’t feel any pain?
Pain is not an indicator of wellness. As subluxations like other insidious diseases are silent they are often present without us knowing. A periodic adjustment ensures that these subluxations are removed thus preventing problems before they become symptoms.

What is wellness care?
Wellness is not the mere absence of disease or symptoms but is the active pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. This should address the four pillars of wellness. By addressing the four pillars of wellness we can achieve purity and sufficiency allowing our body to move naturally toward a state of wellness.

How long will it take for me to respond to chiropractic wellness care?
We follow the body’s natural healing phases when designing a treatment plan. The body undergoes recovery in the first 48-72 hours following the first adjustment. Tissue repair can take between 2 weeks and 6 weeks. It is during this time that chiropractic care is at its most intensive. After the initial intensive phase is complete and the symptoms have improved the following corrective phase can take between 3 and 12 months depending on how long the problem has been present . Following corrective care the client is offered wellness care to help maintain optimal function.

What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a specific movement of the spine with the intent of restoring normal movement patterns and nerve function. There are many different styles however all are designed to improve the function of the nervous system. Generally a chiropractic adjustment is a specific force applied in a specific direction to a specific area of the body. It requires a high degree of skill and a good knowledge of the human body.
