Staying healthy

Here at Collins Street Chiropractic we believe that staying healthy requires us to address the four principles of a wellness lifestyle.

This is why we call staying healthy wellness care.

The pillars of wellness are:

  • An optimally functioning nervous system and removal of subluxations with chiropractic adjustments.
  • Proper nutrition that supports our body’s ability to self repair and self regulate.
  • Appropriate exercise to both stimulate our nervous system and strengthen our musculoskeletal system.
  • Adequate rest and relaxation to refresh our body mind and spirit.

The cause of all disease without exception is either toxicity or deficiency by addressing the above four principles we create purity and sufficiency and our body naturally gravitates towards wellness.

Individuals can take an active role in enhancing their wellbeing. The protector of our nervous system our spinal column is constantly being stressed and strained . This effects our posture. We then use gentle chiropractic adjustments corrective rehabilitative exercise and appropriate nutritional support.

Our internal cellular environment requires optimal nutrition , oxygen , a pure water source and a proper nerve supply to remain healthy. Our diet and life style often adversely effects our cell environment leading to dis-ease.
According to latest research the spinal column has a direct effect the function of the brain. The chiropractic adjustment via important neurological pathways enhances cognitive(learning) , endocrine(hormonal) and mood functions. Proper spinal movement “charges” the brain and is seen as a vital “nutrient” for normal brain function.

In our stressful chaotic world our body and mind are continually bombarded. New research is showing that regular relaxation and rest is critical to a healthy nervous system. We encourage the incorporation of a meditation practice on a daily basis to combat the body’s emotional and physical stress response.
